ICTC Full Circle Doulas

ICTC Full Circle Doulas are internationally recognized culturally competent community health workers who provide beneficial labor, birth and postpartum services.  The ICTC FCDT increases the number of culturally competent community based doulas, doulas of color, and the number of women of color who will become midwives.

Thank you for supporting the ICTC in our effort to reduce infant mortality,  promote breastfeeding, increase the number of midwives and doulas of color and access to doula services. Our mission is to increase the number of midwives, doula and healers of color, to empower families in order to reduce infant and maternal mortality.

Doulas are professionals who provide emotional and physical support to pregnant women and their families; they educate pregnant women on healthy choices to reduce premature birth and low birth weight, two factors that contribute to the high rate of the US infant mortality.

The ICTC doula training empowers women to help reduce infant mortality and facilitates higher education.  One-third of ICTC doulas enroll in nursing and midwife schools, which strengths the US workforce.

The demand from the community has been overwhelming for increased outreach, training and education. However, over 40% of  those seeking to train are low-income and require a scholarship to attend.

You can help by making a financial contribution to a training in your state:

  • $800 will provide a full scholarship
  • $600 2 partial scholarship
  • $400 1 partial scholarship
  • $56.95 1 manual
  • $50.00 Packet/Doula Bag

This was a very unique training. I am  so grateful for the focus on African and Diasporic families, cultures and traditions.
